The tang dao was the most influential blade in East Asia and one of the first single-edged straight dao blades in the Chinese arsenal.
The tang dao has a folded pattern steel blade with several visible layers and patterns. The blade is polished using hazuya, oil quenched, and differentially heat treated for a harder edge and more flexible spine.
The weapon comes with an ebony wood scabbard and a hardwood two-handed handle. The copper and brass fittings feature emblems from the Tang Dynasty and symbols of the Chinese dragon.
The level of sharpness determines whether the blade will be ideal for functional cutting practice or as a decorative display piece used for wushu or tai chi.
