This Dao saber, called Daqing Yudao, replicates a single-edged sword used during China's Qing Dynasty (1636-1911) and is crafted from Damascus Steel. The blade is folded multiple times, resulting in beautiful layers and it is clay tempered to produce a genuine hamon, thereby strengthening its edge.
Polished by hazuya stone methods, it boasts a mirror-like shine. Further, it features two sets of fullers for reduced weight and improved handling when slashing. Its handle and scabbards are wooden, wrapped with rayskin and cord, and lacquered for enhanced aesthetic appeal.
The fittings and mountings are fashioned from brass and a free sword bag accompanies the sword. This weapon is perfect for cutting practice, allowing one to measure the might of an early Qing-era warrior who confronted many formidable foes.
