Here is a Jian, a double-edged straight sword, also known as a gentleman blade from the Chinese arsenal, based on a Song Dynasty (960-1279) edged weapon design. Its motif and theme are unique, featuring a flower pattern on the handguard, pommel, and scabbard. This pattern was prevalent on vases and artistic walls during the Song era, symbolizing love, affection, and wealth.
The sword is forged from pattern steel and has undergone multiple folding sessions, resulting in visible, stunning Damascus-blade layers. The sword features an authentic hamon line due to being clay tempered. Its fittings are made of copper and brass while the handle and scabbard are crafted from hardwood and quality ebony, both wrapped in graceful dark rayskin. While perfect for decor or as a gift, this sword can also be sharpened and used for cutting.
