This beautiful Jian double-edged sword, featuring the Chinese flying dragon as its main theme and motif, is aptly called the "Flying Dragon Han Jian". Patterned after blades used during the Han Dynasty (202 BCE - 220 CE)—some of the earliest functional steel Chinese blades—this weapon is constructed from pattern and 1095 folded steel, creating numerous Damascus-like layers visible along its length.
The handle and scabbard, made from high-quality ebony wood, are decorated with brass fittings. These display a dragon in motion through the many lively patterns surrounding it. If sharpened, the sword's 8-sided blade proves extremely effective in cutting tests—even on bamboo or tameshigiri. However, it can also be left unsharpened, making it suitable for safe martial arts practice. Each sword comes with a complimentary sword bag and an optional clay temper.
